October 2019 missio news

The Tacoma Rescue Mission : Help, Hope, Healing – Our financial gifts help provide meals, shelter, job training, stable housing and more. Just this past year 2,354 men, women and children received life-changing services at the Mission. They have a special program for veterans. It is Pierce County’s only designated shelter space for veterans.

Other programs they offer are:
-A preschool for children living at the Mission
- On weekends a van drives around the Tacoma area offering food to the homeless and a ride back to the Mission if they are willing to go.
For more information, see the missions bulletin board. Be sure to read the May news article from the Tribune that tells about Tacoma spending $1.6 million to help expand a homeless shelter at the Mission. Please consider helping the Mission by giving generously to the SS mission of the month offering taken on the last Sunday of the month – Oct. 27
