March 31, 2019 Thought for the week

“Could it be that when we are bold enough to step away from our safety nets and into the ‘fire’ of God’s call, this is when we’re most likely to encounter Him?

Coming Soon!!! Great lead in to Easter: PRAYER WEEK 2019, “Recovering Our Passion For Jesus”, Apr. 14-20. Please let Pastor Jim know soon if you would like to host one of the evening prayer times in your home (all start at 6:30 P.M.), or if you would like to lead one of the devotional times (themes and Scripture selections will be provided). Thanks.

Today we offer our prayers, love, and condolences to both family and friends of Blake Ashworth Sr., who passed away last Sunday morning. Blake was a highly respected member and elder of this church, whose witness for Jesus and His Word, the Bible, and unconditional love for everyone he met will be greatly missed by all of us.

F.Y.I. – Fish Food Bank is no longer accepting donations of
clothing. If you wish to contribute to this valuable ministry in our community, please limit your donations to food. Thanks.

Prayer Family for the Week: Barbara, Blake Jr., and Susie Ashworth, “adopted” daughter Maria, and all the rest of the family.

The time has come for us to part with Christian brother Blake,
His work on earth is finished and his new life has begun.
God’s timing is so perfect that we know it was the time to take
Blake away from us to paradise to live with God’s own Son,
Blake’s earthly life had challenges and trials to be sure.
He faced them with assurance that God was always there
God gave him all the faith and wisdom he needed to endure,
And also all the spiritual strength to help others, to share
What His Savior meant to him, how He changed his life
How He calmed the inward man, filled him with faith and peace
Lord, we thank you for the gift of Blake’s committed life
And his willingness to share his faith, his hope, his peace.

March 10, 2019 Thought For The Week

“I believe that the moment our hearts are emptied of pride and selfishness and ambition and everything that is contrary to God’s law, the Holy Spirit will fill every corner of our hearts. But if we are full of pride and ambition and the world, there is no room for the Spirit of God. We must be emptied before we can be filled.” -- D .L. Mo

Prayer Family for the Week: Michael Picard

When we wake up and open our eyes
We wonder if the weather will be a surprise.
We’ve seen sunshine, we’ve seen rain
Snow, sunshine and snow again.
We wait impatiently for spring,
For flowers to bloom and birds to sing,
But no matter what the seasons bring
We see God’s hand in everything.

Prayer Family for the Week: Harold and Verna Petersohn

When we’re through with winter snow
We watch to see the new plants grow
They break the soil to find the sun
That shines on them and they have won
The chance to live, the chance to grow
To gain their height and breadth and so
That’s how it goes in our lives too
We find the Son and then pursue
The plan God has for how to live,
With the love only God can give.
